MY PICKS
So… it's been awhile. xD Sorry, again. I can't make any promises over the next few months, but I will TRY to get new rotations up more often. If you all are still out there, then please enjoy this long overdue rotation. =]
Saez - On a pas la thune
Series - N/A
Language - French
Comment - Sheepish and whimsical, "On a pas la thune" is a parade of impish vocals and quirky instruments that tagalong to a subdued playfulness. Here and there Saez drops hints of mischievous notes that seem to twirl around your toes until they start tapping themselves. Something worth trying I say. =]

The Bird and the Bee - Tonight You Belong to Me
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - Thanks to BlackShade once again for sharing this song. I had heard this in a friend's car one day and since then I had been obsessed with finding this version. So many thanks to BlackShade for helping me out before I scoured the world wide web in desperate isolation. I am not sitting in a corner now thanks to her. =]
xD Seriously, what the heck is in this Sprite? Ugh, anyway. This version is a (in my opinion) better version of Patience and Prudence's original. Don't get me wrong, I think the original is adorable. A pair of twelve year old girls singing about... well... the birds and the bees. xD (*snortpun*) Then after awhile it becomes annoying, and then a little creepy. And then it goes back to adorable. But I prefer The Bird and the Bee's version because it puts an airy, carefree electronica twist to it. Her voice is like nectar... sweet and natural. Yup. Download and experience please. =]

Acid House Kings - This Heart Is A Stone
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - Calling this song 'super mega ultra sixties happy' is an understatement. It's almost sickening happiness. BUT IT'S NOT. Tambourines, guitars, high pitched female vocals - oh my! It's a festival in your ear canal. Download and prance through a field of flowers my friend for you'll find yourself in a better mood either way.

Pink Martini - Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler
Series - N/A
Language - French
Comment - Just thought I'd bring back some French classics. Listening to this song makes me feel like I'm on a countryside villa sipping grape juice (even in my imaginations I'm not legal yet -_-"). Makes me feel like skipping this song does yes. xD

The Legends - Call It Ours
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - More happy! The Legends is actually one-man Swedish band Johan Angergård. I had a hard time choosing which Legend song to post up, but ultimately I figured I should continue with this line-up of happiness. xD Infectiously catchy and just about raging with sunshine, "Call It Ours" is a tribute to all things peppy and groovy. You might as well download this standing up because as soon as you play it you'll automatically start to dance. I assure you.

GLaDos - Still Alive
Video game - Portal
Language - English
Comment - xD This song is for kicks. An adorable sadistic super genius computer singing about you, the game's protagonist, who has supposedly killed her. Have fun.
The Mary Onettes - Pleasure Songs
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - Another Onettes song because you can never have too much indie goodness. If you liked "Henry" last rotation then this one will be no exception. Enjoy. =]

Era - Ameno
Series - N/A
Language - Pseudo-Latin
Comment - Yup. That's what Wikipedia says this song is in. So this is one of my more "out there" songs. If you're not into New Age, Gregorian Chant kind of stuff then you can bypass this. But you'll never know if you like it or not if you don't try it. ;]

Maya Hakvoort & André Bauer - Boote in der Nacht
Musical - Elisabeth
Language - German
Comment - I love this musical, I love this song - let me tell you. Honestly, I thought German was an ugly language. I'll admit it. But after falling in love with Elisabeth, I can't go a day without listening to at least a couple German songs. "Boote in der Nacht" ("Two Ships in the Night" or "Two Boats in the Night") sings of mutual heartbreak and understanding. In this scene, Elisabeth and her husband, Kaiser Franz-Joseph, realize that although their love for one another still lingers, they cannot return to the life they once had. Tender and A subtitled performance of this song is on YouTube if anyone is interested.
Gomez - See the World
Series - House M.D.
Language - English
Comment - This is killing me. I can't remember if I've posted this up before. Ugh, whatever. You can enjoy it again. xD
A little folksy country, if you will. Hmm. Country. Strange... this is country... so... why do I... like it? o_o Download and unfold the mystery!

지선 - Polaris
Series - N/A
Language - Korean
Comment - T_T Jisun... Why did you ever leave Loveholic?! Korean music has never been the same for me since then... *sigh* Everything aside, I liked your solo album. No surprise that it's still similar to Loveholic stuff. >_> Oh well, I wish you the best in your solo career.

Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - 80's pop. Because I wanted to. xD This is one of those songs that'll never die. You'll go a couple of months or so without hearing it and then one day you'll find yourself humming its tune. Download and revel in all of the 80's glory. Except for the legwarmers. And funky hair.

The Pigeon Detectives - Take Her Back
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - I think this song is about underaged relationships. *shrugs* Just throwing it out there.
A rhythmic chorus of guitars and drums signals in an abrasive energy full of intense and boisterous sounds. Sexy vocals and entrancing sing along lyrics make a convincing case for underaged female debauchery and rake in steamy excuses as a plea bargain. The Pigeon Detectives prove themselves to be a bunch of lawless delinquents guilty of spreading badassery and a welcomed playfulness in their music. The word "badassery" was made up in honor of them. Download and enjoy. =]
Pomplamoose - Expiration Date
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - xD These guys seem to appear every rotation. But their music deserves this honorable recognition (*snorts*) because it's simple ingenuity. Nothing about this song is boring or overused. "Expiration Date" is complicated. It puts nostalgia into words. It spews heartache and loss. "Wistful" is only half of it. But all the while, it has you smiling and swaying to a seemingly out of place tune that reeks of... cool. Just plain cool. This song renders you senseless. Enjoy your puddle of confusing emotions.

Feist - La Même Histoire
Movie - Paris Je T'aime
Language - French
Comment - Paris Je T'aime is an amazing movie because 1) It's a collective of short stories made by different directors 2) Gaspard Ulliel 3) The music 4) Gaspard Ulliel and 5).... I'm going to say Gaspard Ulliel. Because he's all I could pay attention to for those two minutes of screen time he had. xD
So we all know Leslie Feist is a wonderful singer. There's no need for me to go into her voice because, lo and behold, I think it's perfect. I am jealous of her. Therefore, I will try to the best of my ability not to express any angry admiration. Because it's not like her voice is so melodious and soothing it makes me want to cry sometimes. I never said that it transports a vivid image of warmth and security. Psh. As if.
Oh gosh, I'm not drinking Sprite this late at night anymore xD. This quaint little ditty will have you grabbing ahold of the closest furry stuffed creature near you as blobs of snot cover its synthetic coat. I love this song to death, I really do. For those days when the whole world seems to hate you and secretly, you have to give in for now, I suggest this. Seriously, if you leave this site without this song you're definitely missing something.

The Last Shadow Puppets - My Mistakes Were Made For You
Series - N/A
Language - English
Comment - The first time I heard this song I froze. It was something I had never heard before. Or more precisely, something I've always dreamed of hearing. The Last Shadow Puppets is a side project band of Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys that incorporates a sort of... baroque pop style with tidbits of other influences I can't pinpoint. To let you guys in on a little secret, the opening bass line makes me feel like a secret agent.
I... I'm having trouble thinking of words that will describe this song. The vocals are so... mystifying and deluded that it seems to shroud the entire song in secrecy. It has this subtle seductiveness that sears through each note. It just pulsates with a gritty, almost primal fervor. I can't string any more fancy adjectives - this song just leaves me speechless. Download please. =]
